I made a last minute trip home on Friday. It was short and sweet and lasted only 36 hours. Now I'm even more exhausted since it seems like I have been traveling non-stop the last few weeks. It doesn't matter however, I'm just glad we could celebrate my Gram's 80th birthday with her. Every hour was filled to the brim before I jetted back to the hills of Tennessee. I made sure to catch up with these two lovebirds who are about to welcome a new baby boy in the next few weeks. Whoa, I will never get used to my little brother being a grown up. He is absolutely in love with his little Mrs. and they were hustling to put the final touches on their nursery. Blue and white seem to be their signature colors which is exactly what I'm loving this summer, how perfect! Love you both! -Laura
P.S. Here are a few tips (and links) for how to style your own simple blue + white outfits. Trent and Heather opted for me to style clothing from their own wardrobes however, if you must begin styling with only a color palette, this is an easy (and visual) place to begin. My advice? Maternity sessions are soft, simple and intimate. Be careful not to over style the session. The focus is to capture tender moments shared between two future parents and should highlight their growing love for their unborn child. When choosing clothing consider different textures. Most likely there will be many detail shots so this is the perfect time to put a little extra effort into pairing interesting fabric textures. Texture is subtle but enhances your photos without letting your clothing steal the show. One last tip, your end results will likely hang in a nursery. Keep this in mind and don't be afraid to put it in sentimental gear during your session while you enjoy the ride!
