I wasn't in the stands, wearing a big hat or sipping mint juleps. Instead, I was on the couch watching the grand event unfold. In between styling hair and make up for the Paris Prom, (which was an absolute blast!) I took in the extravagant styles of the derby's best. I've been looking forward to the Kentucky Derby for weeks now. Especially since traveling through beautiful Kentucky horse country a few weeks ago. (If you missed my KY photos check them out here.) Derby fashions were everything I imagined them to be this year. I fell hard for the black and white ensembles as well as the earth tones matched with floral. Hands down Jeannie Mai (from the Style Network) stole the show in her bright yellows and wild print. Thanks to her, my fear of red glossy lips is gone!

I was and still am thrilled with my beauty purchases (which I use daily) and thought I would take a moment to share them. One of the most frequently asked questions I hear is, "What kind of make up is best for my photo session?" This is a great question because you want to look like the best version of yourself ... naturally. My mantra with beauty products has always been... when applied correctly, LESS is always best. Of course minor touch ups can be done in photoshop but why not have the face of a natural beauty everyday?! These products are terrific basics to enhance your skin, not hide it. Now you be the judge, each product is linked to more info. Go ahead, let them charm you too!
